I have successfully installed SSH2 inRedHat 6.0, using two Linux-boxes. One running sshd and the other one ssh.
I successfully established a remote TCP forwarding from sshd box to ssh box using ssh remotehost -R 5555:localhost:5555
then using a dummy program established a socket connection and check that the forwarding was working properly, at both ends of the connection.
Then I stepped forward and used a Windows NT ssh client Trial, do all the configuration stuff and correctly established an ssh session. Again I tried the TCP forwarding, and at first it seems to be working. But although the sshd reports a succesfully forwarded port, this forwarded port is only available to local connection in the sshd box. That is, if I type telnet localhost 5555 it works fine, but if a type telnet sshd-host 5555 from other equipment my connection is refused.
I then took a look at the /proc/net/tcp and found a difference in the
forwarded proxy port.
The one that works reports a local address 00000000:15B3 and the one
that does not work reports 0100007F:15B3, that is one is listening at address
0.0.0.0 and listens for external an internal connections , and the other
one listens at address 127.0.0.1 and only listens for internal connections.
Can anybody help me? I have been wading through the configuration files and found nothing.
Thanks in advance.
Manuel,
