AFAIK is works this way: scp connects the first host, and ask to
send files to the second (and scp does not attach a virtual
terminal). The Second host need a password, so the first host
need to ask for the passphrase. But it isn't able to read from
the terminal (not attached to first remote host), or via the
passphrase X-Tool, since there's no DISPLAY set. So you may try
to set DISPLAY to your machine (xhost +saul may be nessacarry,
but don't allow this, since your passphrase would be send
unencrypted), or you may do:
scp jmorace@saul:/tmp/foo /tmp/bar
scp /tmp/bar jmorace@becker:/tmp/foo
#rm -rf /tmp/bar
or maybe:
ssh jmorace@saul scp /tmp/foo jmorace@becker:/tmp/foo
(Please drop me a note via PM if it's worked or not)
