I have just installed ssh 1.2.27-5i rpms under RedHat 6.1 x86, and am
finding myself unable to make a connection. I'm not sure how to trouble-
shoot this, but here's what I've got:

----- begin include -----

% ssh -v plage.stanford.edu
SSH Version 1.2.27 [i586-unknown-linux], protocol version 1.5.
Standard version. Does not use RSAREF.
localhost.localdomain: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config
localhost.localdomain: ssh_connect: getuid 500 geteuid 0 anon 0
localhost.localdomain: Connecting to plage.stanford.edu [36.92.1.34] port 22.
localhost.localdomain: Allocated local port 1022.
localhost.localdomain: connect: Connection timed out
localhost.localdomain: Trying again...
localhost.localdomain: Connecting to plage.stanford.edu [36.92.1.34] port 22.
localhost.localdomain: Allocated local port 1022.

.... etc

----- End forwarded message -----

Other facts that may or may not be relevant:

1. All other TCP applications work -- telnet, ftp, http, ping, etc.
2. I am sitting behind a Netopia router/firewall that is doing IP masquerading
   for a small LAN.
3. I can make ssh-protocol connections with no problems from SecureCRT on
windows boxes on the same network.

My suspicion is that in some fashion or other I have screwed up my network
configuration on the linux box. Can anybody give me any suggestions of what
to look at, and/or what might cause a problem like this?

Thanks for any help,
