I thought that the DISLAY variable was setup during the negociation process
between the ssh2 client and server. In addition letting the DISPLAY set to
x.x.x.x:10.0 where x.x.x.x is the ip address of the ssh2 server works in
the case where the ssh2d daemon has been compiled on Solaris 2.5.1 with
gcc 2.8.x

Thanks, Didier

Depending on the shell you have:

tcsh: setenv dispay x.x.x.x:0.0
bash: DISPLAY X.X.X.X:0.0
export DISPLAY
something like that. Your client if set for Xforwarding should do
this for you.
make sure your client is xforwarded.
