And to back up Theo, sending a who command to [EMAIL PROTECTED] will
tell you that the sender of the original message is subscribed to the
list.
It's already been said on the list the most likely reason that the
message was recieved [a description of how petty park works]. I've
checked against other messages from Brendan Choi and there is a simlar
pattern to them [all start from a dynamic dialups on best.com], so its
most likey this is the explanation of the email. His computer is
infected by the virus, it has 'stolen' settings from his computer, and
used these to email itself out to everyone.
I'm sure Brendan is panicking about the state of his system right now
and will give us his comment when he finds out whats happened. Or maybe not.

Limit the size of attatchments people can send to the list. 30-40k is
usually a good bet... this means people can send illustrative
images[provided they do understand how to use image compression that is]
, or annoying attatched emails, vCARDs and digital signatures, but stop
things like that .exe being sent round.
The open-ness of the who command happens to be another way of having
spam targeted at you. In some configs of majordomo you don't have to be
subscribed to a list to do a who, thus giving the evil spammers 1600
email address's to sell on [in this instance]. I haven't checked how it
is set with this list.

You really shouldn't listen to anything he says... as it may just be an opinion
