Hi Huff,
I don't know how your Windows98 PC is configures, but I would check the
routing on it. This definitely sounds like a routing problem. Does it have
more than one NIC if so are DNS requests being sent to the right one? In
other words how are DNS names being resolved on the Windows98 PC and are
they being resolved correctly?
Both 24.4.14.227 and 24.4.14.251 are on the same subnet so how can there
be two domain names? I wouldn't think this to be possible. It looks like
your gateway could be adding its domain to the host name 'fester'
assuming it domain name is 'huffstutler.com'.
