Greetings:
I have a cluster of computers, each with two network interfaces and
sitting on two networks (one gigabit, with domain data.net; one fast
ethernet, with domain admin.net). I'd like to be able to use host-based
authentication between them on *both* networks: i.e., be able to scp or
ssh to nodeXX.admin.net or to nodeXX.data.net.
problem is that ssh recognizes that the primary hostname of each node
agrees with one interface name, but not the other. The logfile entries
make this clear:
Aug 26 09:44:20 hydra sshd[3097]: connection from "192.168.101.2"
Aug 26 09:44:28 hydra sshd[15911]: Client gave us a hostname
('node02.admin.net.') which doesn't match the one we got from DNS
('node02d.data.net.')
I'd appreciate any advice on how to configure my systems (all redhat
6.2) to make it possible to do hostbased authentication through either
network.
Thanks,
