        For something like that, I would recommend IPSec, not ssh.  I use
ssh everywhere, but I still use IPSec to build my VPN tunnels between
various broadband (cable) gateways.

        Welll...  If IPSec is unacceptable for one reason or another (like
NAT or firewalling), then just rebuild the tunnel in a loop.  If the client
dies, fire'm back up again.
