The spam did not come from the list owner. It also did not come from a
spamming list member. It came from a third party completely unaffiliated
with the list. Posting to the list is not restricted to members.
Please, please never CC copies of spam back to the list. It's offensive
enough to receive them once.
If you want to fight spam, check out http://spam.abuse.org for pointers
on what to do.
For what it's worth, I've already reported the spammer to all of the
parties involved and requested that their service be terminated, and
even to the IRS should they be interested in "cancelling" perpetrators
of tax avoidance schemes.
