Thanks Jason and Tin Le,

I now have ssh working fine by using ports higher than 1024 (I set
"UsePrivilegedPort no" in /etc/ssh/ssh_config). Thanks for your advice :).
Consider this problem solved. (Actually, the solution can be found on the FAQ
page at OpenSSH.com... duh!)
