nm is a utility used with libraries to list what symbols (sometimes functions
sometimes variables {like errno}) are in a library. Most likely configure wants
to use nm to verify that certain functions are available inn certain libraries.

I don't have Solaris system availahble at the moment, but just run:

        find /usr -name nm

to locate the directory that it lives in (which is not usr/bin or sbin) and
add tht directory to your path.

Cheers...james
