It is a program to list symbols from object files. It is generally used to list
symbols in libraries to see if a specific function is supported and whether the
library needs to be included during the build.
For Solaris, you need to make sure SUNWbtool is installed: pkginfo SUNWbtool,
will tell you whether it is or not. Or look in /usr/ccs/bin for nm. If not got
back to your Solaris CD's and install it. If it is installed then make sure
/usr/ccs/bin is in your path before running ./configure.
