I have RedHat 6.1
installed and SSH and SSHD on two machines. I have a windows 98 machine with
Putty which is an SSH client. I want to be able to SSH into one Linux box from
the other without having to input a password. Both Linux machines have a key
and equivalent public key. /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key and /etc/ssh/ssh_host_key.pub.
I then copied both .pub files into one file and named it authorized_keys and
placed this file in /root/.ssh/ directory. This is how it appears to me to be
able to set up the two machines so that from machine one I can type ssh ‘machine2’
and not be prompted for a password but still I am being prompted. Can you help
me please. Javid
