I've just installed openssh 2.5.2p1 on my server running slackware 4.0,
zlib 1.1.3, openssl 0.9.5a. Compilation and installation seem to have
worked but I am running into some strange problems. After logging in,
finger and who and w will all show the appropriate information about the
user. However, after logging out, finger and who will still show that
user as being logged in and associated with that particular tty.
Additionally, biff messages have been getting sent to users for whom they
are not intended, which I believe is related to this problem as well. I'm
guessing that this is a problem with wtmp, but I have no idea how to go
about debugging this issue.

I'm not sure if this is related, but during logout, the shell will hang
for about 15 seconds and disconnect. I saw the item in the openssh faq
about shells hanging but have been unable to get anything to work.

Thank you for any help you can offer on this subject. I appologize if
this topic has been covered before, but I have been searching high and low
and have been unable to find anything.
