Also, I  noticed that for  ssh to use  the authorized_keys2/id_dsa.pub
without asking for a password, I  had to put "Protocol 2,1" (or merely
"Protocol 2") in my local ~/.ssh/config.

Therefore, check the order of preference of the protocols.
