We are having problems with ssh communications ssh-2.4.0 non-commercial
on solaris 8. When an account is created so that the user must change
the password on login or the password has expired, they never get the
prompt to change passwords unless they specifically use a ssh1 client
to log in. The syslog shows the following messages:

  Jun 12 14:07:15 hostname sshd[4507]: [ID 702911 local3.notice] User uname's local
password accepted.
  Jun 12 14:07:15 hostname sshd[4507]: [ID 702911 local3.notice] Password
authentication for user uname accepted.
  Jun 12 14:07:15 hostname sshd[4507]: [ID 702911 local3.info] Remote host
disconnected: Unexpected response packet
  Jun 12 14:07:15 hostname sshd[4507]: [ID 702911 local3.warning] Protocol error in
remote: 'Unexpected response packet'

ssh was configured with --with-x --with-libwrap=/usr/local/lib/libwrap.a
and has only been tested on solaris8.

TIA,
  Jon
