I am not a powder coat expert. My friend Rob Adams has powder coated many bicycle
parts.
Rob says powder coating is much tougher than paint. It is also thicker. I would
expect some problems if any detail parts exist and I would expect fillets to
develop (ie. coating filling in the corner so it has a curved surface rather than
right angle) where perpendicular surfaces make contact.

I have considered having the parts powder coated in the future but I understand
that powder coating is prone to chipping and not easily repaired.(comments?)
