I am starting the "Americanization" of a Roundhouse Fowler. As part of the
process, I am cutting openings in the RH plate type frames to make them
appear more like an American ladder type frame. By doing so I am exposing
the RH wheels (drivers) which are the disc type. I want to install spoked
wheels on this model, as the disc wheels no longer look correct. My first
thought was to contact RH and order the Sandy River wheels from them. They
informed me that they do not sell those wheels outright, as they are in
short supply. The only other source for direct fit spoked wheels I have
identified was extremely expensive at $30 ea or $180 for all six. There are
some wheels available from Sulphur Springs, however they are a little small
diameter wise. I thought about machining spokes into the original wheels,
but that is not as easy as it sounds. Any ideas from the list would be
greatly appreciated.
