The Vest Pocket Climax wheels also had the sprue on the rim, but they
were nice and round. However, the drive pinions, which had the sprue on
the center boss were definately oval. So I thin it's more in the
handling of the waxes than in the location of the sprue. But I agree,
machining the rims was a pain I could have done without. 7 locomotives
means 56 wheels!
