I had bought a PMR oscillating engine castings kit from a guy on Ebay. This was before I found their website www.pmresearchinc.com <http://www.pmresearchinc.com> . This is a double acting stationary engine but as always could be used for SS Live steam for the inventive. The point of the post is it made a perfect first engine project for me and my new lathe/mill. Learned a lot about machining castings and accuracy. It did not run really well right off but a few adjustments here and there and now it will tick over on air with just a little jump of the needle on the air gauge. I show it off to anyone who enters my shop and my friends at work. With its bore I bet it would power a steam boat pretty well also.
I know it is slightly off topic but it was such a great beginners machining project for me others may consider a project like this. Sincerely Steve Ciambrone Sr. Test Engineer L-3 Ocean Systems
