Hi, After the great run of the shay this morning, Dr. Abe Cohen arrived at noon with his three truck shay and our lunch. Normally, one would expect races to happen, that's the normal competition, right? Well, we had the reverse of races, we competed to see who's Shay could go around the track the slowest with the biggest load without stalling AND without popping the safety valve. It was great fun, but ended in a draw, we always had at least one infraction of the rules per contest. Our three plus hours of fun was ended with a very unseasonable rain storm that has given us 1.3" of very much needed rail. Haven't had any ppt for over three weeks. The only response so far to the question about drawbar pull/dead weight came from a non list person I sent a blind cc to. His response: "The drawbar pull/deadweight conversion is the second integral of the pressure divided by the number of slices of pepperoni in your pizza. Remember the resultant is in dynes!" signed "Jerry" If he had said "the number of anchovies" I'd know for sure the exhaust fumes from the heavy traffic on I-10 in Mississippi have cooked whatever gray matter he once possessed............ How many days to DH Madness? Keep your steam up! Walt & Lunk
