Paul, Re: threading 0-80 machine screw thread. My #23 Machinery's Hand Book says you should use material with a .060" OD. If you have access to brass rod with a 1.5 mm OD that would do it. It has an OD of .059". The 1/1000th smaller won't affect your finished product. If you use 1/16" material your OD will be .0025" larger and acceptable too. If I were you I would use �-13 screws and get rid of the problem.
