Gary with the Alisan Shay. I too have one. Make sure your filler cap seal is not compromised. Mine has an O ring that is pretty well flattened from being tightly closed all the time. A new O ring is in order for my engine.
Any air leak in your alcohol tank/fuel system will cause the alcohol to flow to the wick cans and when not burning causing overflow. Take a look at your Aster catalog pages where a "chicken feed" system is shown in cross section. You can see that air gets into the supply tank when the fuel level goes below the air duct in the sump. That is the normal operation. The height of that air duct line in the sump controls the fuel level in the wick cans. So if extra air gets into the supply tank from some other source such as a leaking filler cap, the fuel will continue to flow till the supply tank is empty. This condition is not noticed when operating because it is a "slow leak". It becomes noticed when not burning.
