This is an e-mail I just received regarding the Hudson someone
inquired about a few days ago.
I hope by now that you have all received photos...There are a few who
haven't yet and I will get those out asap.
There have been a lot of questions. What I will do here is answer as
many of those and list other facts that I have found in my fathers
papers...
1926 Hudson No.5200, 4-6-4 (which was basically an
extended 'Pacific') the four wheel trailing truck and
larger firebox enabled the engine to produce more
steam and attain higher speeds than the 4-6-2.

SHIPPING - East Coast...Well, I suppose it would be possible. It would
take some professional people to get it out of the shop and crate it
properly...I wouldn't know where to start finding that service or
finding someone to transport it. Needless to say It would be
expensive?
ASKING PRICE - I am getting all of the blueprints, packing lists and
Invoices matched up and will probably contact the supplier for some
help in this area (it seems that we have more equipment and parts than
we have invoices). My father was a great machinist but not a great
accountant. He also got so excited when he received a package and dug
out the parts that I know the paperwork was the least of his
concern....We do realize that this was his hobby and when you sell
something like this you do not generally receive much in the labor
department. We will come up with a very fair price and will consider
any and all offers. Your input would also be very helpful.
I must apologize that we were not more organized. I e-mailed a few
'live steam' clubs and had no idea that we would get such a great
response. I personally thank all of you that have helped get the word
out and your interest. I'm learning that there is a huge group of
individuals with a strong interest in our Countries Railroad Heritage.
It's great to know that.
