To screw the post back into your boiler try teflon pipe seal tape. Maybe take two layers, but seals well and takes heat. Or there is pipe dope with teflon might also work. I have another problem, one of the posts for the hand rail on Virgina is broken off, but the stub is still in the boiler shell. Afraid to take it out by drilling or punching.
