The Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources is putting on a very nice but small Railfair at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont CA this long weekend (all three days). Ardenwood is just off Hwy 84 about 5 miles east of the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge.
Go to: http://www.spcrr.org/ and click on "Railfair 2009" on the left hand column to get the flier. They are running two 3-foot gauge steam locos - both tiny Porter ex-Hawaiian sugar plantation locos. Cliff from Accucraft is firing one of them and will give you a cab ride if he's on duty!
