Why would .35, which is pretty explicitly for the "embedded" crowd, care
about thinkpad patches? Shouldn't anyone using a laptop already be
moved off to .36 or (hopefully) .37 by now?

Hi Greg,
Some of us (at least me ;) are under the impression that long term
support is planned for .35, but that it's still up in the air whether
.36 or .37 will get that, so perhaps that is why. We're still on .35 in
Slackware -current (for now).
