Erm, many people referred to that in this discussion explicitly 
and implicitly - beyond its well-known technical meaning it's 
also the English meaning of the word 'release':

So stop pretending that this is somehow the mistake of *others* 
explaining it to you wrong ...

Just admit it already that you were trivially and dead wrong all 
along, and that you were pretty difficult and obnoxious about 
handling a discussion that went against you.

Being wrong is normal and it happens all the time - and a big 
part of the picture is how you handle such situations, to not 
try to wriggle out of the responsibility of being wrong and to 
not waste other people's time with such self-gratifying mental 
obfuscation.

Such as:

You should not argue about the semantics about a revert not 
because somehow it's not important (it is), but because you've 
been wrong about this issue too. You should learn and improve.
