That's a "big" section of patches just to resolve a single bug (hint, I
need the full changelog for the patch, not just a random link to a
random web site that might disappear sometime in the next few
decades...)

And that link doesn't even look like a major issue to me at all, qemu
spits out a warning at boot time?  Really?  How is that relevant to
stable kernels?

I need agreement from the authors of that patch, and the maintainer in
the area, that this is applicable to stable.  Please resend the patch
and cc: them, to not do so is a bit rude, don't you think?
