Actually that is what I wanted it to do since I don't give an
option for a file name to save the pickled state. I just want
a way of telling the programme to read the pickled state.

Yes in retrospect it is lazy of me for not getting rid of this vestige of 
testing and making things more clear.

But at the end of the day, if this causes confusion, then I will
change it. 

And yes I asked for comments and you gave them and most were useful.
