In the picture 'error.jpg' attached, the title bar of the windows 
command console includes the word 'Select'.  If you click within a 
command window, windows thinks you are attempting to highlight text and 
so stops execution of the process(es) running in that window.  If you 
then hit enter (or indeed the 'Esc' key), the 'Select' mode is exited 
and processing is resumed.

Is your problem caused by someone mouse clicking within the command window?

This behaviour can be turned off in some (but not all) versions of 
windows, which are you using?

To (perhaps) turn off this feature, left click the icon (top left of 
title bar), select Properties, then the Options tab and in 'Edit 
Options' uncheck 'QuickEdit Mode'.
