That error message indicates there was an error in the JVM. Are there any
additional errors in the service's JVM log? This will be located in
{STAF/DataDir}/lang/java/jvm/STAFJMV1/JVMLog.1 (if you used the default
JVM name). What version of Java are you using for your Java STAF service?

People.
I am running a JAVA STAF service on a z/OS machine. The service loads and
response to basic queries such as help and version, though complex
operations cause it to fail.
does anyone know what the following error message means?
"STAF Error calling callService method for ServiceRequest object"
