I can say more after I gave a look at what you've done.
What I have posted is an Enhancement Engine that calls SimpleServlets
- this way there is no uima dependency on the stanbol side. What I
haven't post is an other EE I am working on, that tries to load a pear
file with UIMA PackageBrowser - because it doesn't work properly.

I will! The thing I am interested in is loading pear files from an
OSGI bundle, without breaking the class loading mechanism. An other,
easier approach would be to make osgi bundles that export the
necessary classes, so no extra class loading tricks would be needed.
But a huge drawback of this approach is that the user has to make a
new bundle each time.
