With up to 4 bytes per character, it's quite a crapshoot what exactly "1024 characters" means in terms of memory, storage, and bandwidth. -- Chris Mullins -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Peter Saint-Andre Sent: Thursday, August 02, 2007 2:07 PM To: Michal 'vorner' Vaner; XMPP Extension Discussion List Subject: Re: [Standards] Proposed XMPP Extension: Stanza Size Limits Michal 'vorner' Vaner wrote: > Hello > > Bytes? I don't have a strong preference between bytes and characters here, whatever is easier for server developers to count (which is probably characters). So I'll defer to the server devs on this point.
