We talked several times about XEP-0225 and the need to be able to bind a component not only with a domaine but with a unique resource (the domain is not necessarily unique).

The use case is that when you plug several XMPP components using the same domain to do some component load balancing it works fine. In some case however, you need to addresse a specific component instance. In this case you need a resource to talk to this component directly. This is needed for example if you want your component to be able to send iqs. The component instance that has send the iq need to receive the answer.

I talked about this with Saint Peter and Gaston Dombiak at the XMPP devcon and we all agreed that this was needed because we are all doing a similar thing in a non standard way.

How can I help to make this onto the XEP-0225 ?

Is there a need to change anything? Why not send the desired resource in the bind request?
