Back in August 2007, I posted a list of specs that we might want to push
to Final status:

http://mail.jabber.org/pipermail/standards/2007-August/016477.html

Of those, we have advanced the following:

XEP-0012: Last Activity

XEP-0085: Chat State Notifications

XEP-0174: Serverless Messaging

Looking over the original list with the benefit of further experience, I
think that we might be able to advance some more specs to Final over the
next ~6 months. I have in mind the following:

XEP-0045: Multi-User Chat

XEP-0138: Stream Compression

XEP-0199: XMPP Ping

The only sticking point I see on these is that we need to define methods
for extending XEP-0045, likely using ad-hoc commands. At XMPP Summit #6
in Brussels, Matthew Wild and I said we would work on that, but we have
not yet gotten to it. Perhaps we can do that soon.

(Another possibility is XEP-0124 and XEP-0206, which define BOSH and our
use of it in XMPP.)

I will bring this up at the next Council meeting.
