Well, yes. Unfortunately, my server has a much higher interest in keeping me informed about who is interested in my presence than in helping you to stalk me.
There is currently no xmppish way for my server to convey this information to my client though. Maybe that's the reason why google is getting away with that leak in gmail... :-)
