I got the API differences from Animetrics. They do not seem so different that
it will be that time consuming. The Animetrics guys were also kind enough to
setup the older version online so we can test against it. I have Xiali working
on updating her older component to work with it now. I have asked to spend no
more than 2 hours on it. I will keep you guys posted.

Mark,

Todd is going to get the old interface from Animetrics, but depending on how
different it is, it may be too big for us to do before the demo.

On the plus side, Animetrics has very poor face matching performance when
compared to PittPatt, so things would actually look better using it (but we
wouldn't be using the official G2 face matcher).

This is the email I received from Animetrics back when this issue first came up
and we were trying to get it working at the Fort. If you have not upgraded
what is on that box then we are incompatible still. This is most likely the
issue we are running into since you told me on the phone that it was not
upgraded recently.

Hi Todd,

Thanks for the email. We now understand what is going on. The account and
webservices we provided to ApxLabs is one that exists on a server at our
offices and this is why you would need a connection to the internet to access
it. Understanding that you are working with a group in a closed environment
that has an Animetrics server; the only requirement is connectivity to that
server. Who is the group you are working with that has the server? We have
provided a server to PFI through CACI in support of Windshear as part of the
ongoing efforts from EC11. However, as you have discovered, what you are
hitting is an older version (about a year old) and does not contain the latest
webservices interface.

Where to go from here: we can provide you with the documentation for the
original webservices if you will be continuing to develop in the closed
environment, however we prefer that the Animetrics server in the closed
environment be upgraded. We have had discussions several months ago for this
upgrade with PFI, but it was not defined as to when this would occur. Again,
understanding who is maintaining the Animetrics server in your closed
environment will help us to re-engage.

As far as your description of trying to run a match; the behavior you describe
appears to suggest the server is not up and running properly. Although you can
connect to it, the services that generate templates and matching are not
available. I would contact the administrator responsible for maintaining the
server. If you or they have any questions about it and its performance, please
contact me.

Thanks,

Sean
