Hello Teemu

Thank you for your mail.

Regarding your questions:

> If I understand correctly, there are totally 11 XEPs for sensor devices

We have published 2 (Sensor data and EXI over XMPP), and hopefully one more
will be published today (provisioning). I'll publish it on the Standards list
([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) The others will be published
shortly.

> And, what is your XEPs relations to XEP-xxxx: Sensor-Over-XMPP that defines a

We don't have a relation to this proposal. However, we knew of its existence.
We could not work with this proposal because it defined several limitations,
and we needed a generic solution not specific to certain SN applications or
architectures. Limitations include definition of device type, model for a
transducer, allowable units, lack of QoS information on values, as well as
other important aspects required in many sensor applications.

Cc: Standards list for info.

Sincerely,
Peter Waher

Subject: Questions about sensor XEPs

Hello.

I just read your XEP-xxxx: Sensor Data Interchange over XMPP.

I have couple of questions.

If I understand correctly, there are totally 11 XEPs for sensor devices coming
out, do you know when the other 10 will be published?

And, what is your XEPs relations to XEP-xxxx: Sensor-Over-XMPP that defines a
payload format for communicating sensor and actuation information?

Have a sunny spring time!

BR, Teemu Väisänen
