telepathy-gabble sets AMP attributes <http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0079.html> on at least some of its non-chat messages (for instance those exchanged by its "Tubes" RPC protocol), in the hope that servers will not consider them to be eligible for offline storage. I don't know whether any servers actually implement that, though... S
