I'm coming along to the Summit in sunny[1] Portland, and I was thinking about
what I might like to discuss, both with the others coming, and also online
with the broader community.
I don't think there's any specific issues I'm poring over with XMPP currently.
There's no contentious issues in XEPs, or IETF I-Ds, that I'm feeling
particularly anxious about.
Besides, the most productive Summit discussions are often about the more
general topics, I suspect. Since this year seems to have been dominated by
dragnet style surveillance tactics, and security in general, I wondered if we
might be able to devote some time to a general round-table discussion of the
area. I think overviews of where we are with POSH et al would also help, but
also how the security landscape as a whole has changed - I know I've largely
changed my opinion on the benefits of anonymous encryption, for example.
If there's interest, it might be as well to also schedule an online discussion
in a chatroom - in part because I suspect mixing remote and local
participation in a general and largely unstructured chat won't be very
effective.
Dave.
