Changing the From seems more awkward from server viewpoint.    Do you seen an 
issue with the <submission-id/> mechanism?

Yes.  Reviewing this found an error in example 19, that I've corrected.

Can I just clarify what is being suggested here?

I think that this would be a change to XEP-0405 (MIX-PAM), which puts the 
channels into the user roster.   

Including the stable participant ID here is straightforward, and seems 
convenient.    

If this is NOT what you intended, let me know.

If anyone objects to this change, now is the time to say.
