> Changelog: > * Remove XEP-0184 from server support (doesn't make sense)
Actually, it does. Currently, when you start up a client (after some time offline or just a first start of an app) you don't have any information if message was delivered to or read by you chat partner. This is massive problem for iOS when you have to resume chat state after every push notification. So it would be nice if we could have a standard way to fetch this metadata from server somehow. Some app developers use an ad-hoc approach to spam server archive with empty messages, using them as a quasi-permanent read markers, but we don't think it's a good method. We have a pretty clear idea of a XEP that we internally call 'conversations metadata' but it's not implemented yet. Most likely, it'll appear in a few months. -- Ненахов Андрей Директор ООО "Редсолюшн" (Челябинск) (351) 750-50-04 http://www.redsolution.ru _______________________________________________ Standards mailing list Info: https://mail.jabber.org/mailman/listinfo/standards Unsubscribe: [email protected] _______________________________________________
