Maybe in IoT use cases (sensor data) this limit can be hit in a
few years. I had PEP nodes configured to 2.7 million items (number
of seconds in one month) for that, only 800 times less. This was
only in a PoC project and we will use a much lower value in
production, but it is certainly not completely unrealistic.
