5) Pending Votes
Georg, Dave, and Zash, on PR #1064;
Dave voted on-list, earlier [1], on Deprecate and Obsolete XEP-0423 (XMPP
Compliance Suites 2020): +1 (definitely deprecate, and absolutely obsolete)

Dave notes that PR #1064 has been updated in response to his feedback - Zash
ponders the legality of updating a PR during the voting period - Jonas thinks
it would technically need another vote. Dave would like the PR to be discussed
on-list to see other server developers' opinions - Jonas notes that it was
already posted to the list [2], but nobody seemed to care, so is unsure what
can be improved.

5') Pending Votes (PR #1064 Discussion)
Jonas presumes that Dave will veto the old version, so there can be another
vote, but should list discussion be encouraged (again) first - Dave doesn't
think there's much more to do be done when it was already posted on-list, but
wonders whether that means people care either way. Dave suspects the PR is
fine, but isn't sure that encouraging the plaintext password field is going to
annoy other server developers, or maybe they don't care, or even welcome the
changes.
Jonas is sure that Prosody will get an implementation, so if nobody else cares
then having MattJ taking care of that seems sensible. Daniel doesn't think the
PR sounds very controversial - Dave asks what would happen with another
server's implementation - Jonas thinks a namespace bump is the right tool for
that; Zash thinks the namespace has already changed many times.
Dave isn't against the PR, but has no feel for what the Community feels as a
whole - Jonas says feedback can't be forced, but known server developers could
be poked - Dave agrees that it can't be forced, but it would be nice to get
some support for changing a Draft XEP. Daniel explains that such changes are
welcome and overdue; conversations.im considered offering import/export to
users, but it was held back by XEP-0227 (Portable Import/Export Format for
XMPP-IM Servers) not being modern enough, and this PR fixes exactly those
problems - Jonas thinks that would have been great as feedback.
Jonas prefers an unopposed and unsupported change on a Draft XEP to yet another
Experimental rewrite XEP - as does Dave, but support from other server
developers would be great - Jonas thinks they can be poked, and a re-vote is
needed anyway.
Dave has poked Guus (for Openfire); Jonas has poked Holger (for ejabberd.)

7) AOB
Sam has poked Editor for a Last Call on XEP-0292 (vCard4 Over XMPP).

Sam also requests that Council will Obsolete XEP-0072 (SOAP Over XMPP) at their
earliest convenience - Dave thinks soap is still quite important, given the
COVID situation.

8) Close
Thanks everyone.
