Here goes with my deluxe battery post.
Rayovac stopped making these a few years ago, but I have a few cases of new
old stock that still measure very close to 4.5v and have twice the capacity
of the 840.
The batteries I have are 844b, the replacement for the 840, they are twice
as long with twice the capacity, but otherwise just like the old 840. Same
built in cable and connector, plus they have both sides of the velcro
mounting thing so if its crowded in the original spot you can stick the new
844b any place handy.
$5 each, 3/$10, 10/$20 plus shipping which is $2/1, $4/3 and $5/10. The
more you buy the cheaper it gets. ;)
