I just tried Sherlock on my own OS 8.6 system, and it was jammed too. I forget what I did to mess it up, but I have the vague memory of something happening and getting the message that Sherlock internet searches wouldn't work after such and such. Anyway I did the following and its working fine. Trashed the preference files for sherlock (I found two) and EVERYTHING in the Internet Search Sites folder inside the system folder. The I opened the Apple menu items folder and increased the memory for Sherlock using a get info command. Rebooted went to this site and grabbed a new set of plugins <http://www.sherlockplugins.com/> Ran the install script in the file that unstuffs, and selected the Basic option.
