I also purchased a Yamaha 8824e IDE CDRW drive and, though it works well, as another 
respondent also found,  Retrospect Express doesn't support this drive with it's backup 
software.  Unless you have no need for it, until you find good backup software, I can't
recommend this drive to anyone.  Also as the other respondent stated, I would 
appreciate help in finding good backup software for this drive.
