Hi, I have a solution. The starMax recovery CD contains a driver in it boot block about 512bytes. I have extracted this and replaced the one on an image of the Apple CD 9.1 cd. Burn't it back and now the CD-Rom boots in the machine with the correct Hitachi Driver in the boot black of the CD.

When you can boot from a OS cd you are NOT using your normal operating system. Something else is wrong. Will your computer (cd drive) mount the 9.1 cd ? I'm not sure what os you are running, but could it be that you are trying to make too big a jump all at once ? jr -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
