Well, many types of broadband use ethernet now (Cable, DSL)...

Otherwise, that's about it. An ethernet card is for networking, and it does 
that very well but not much else :)

I suppose you could use the link lights to make a nifty lightshow, hook up 
a bunch next to each other then build a switchy device.
